Lights! Camera! WALK!
by Amber Elle
On November 14th, the 12th edition of WALK in Detroit took place at the newly renovated Garden Theatre and was put on partnered with Walk Fashion and Catwalk by Hairshon in order to raise money for HIV and Aids. The day consisted of three shows; WALK University, which highlights children's fashion lines and models, The Emerging Designers Showcase, and The Catwalk, which featured well known designers from the area. There were numerous designers and models who showcased their talents at the shows.
Local businesses and designers were also able to showcase their work and merchandise as attendees entered the venue. Vendors varied from clothing companies such as AnArtKeyLife and Détroit Is The New Black to culinary and dessert companies.
Showcasing numerous designers such as Vino Supraja, Thrift On The Ave, Devorah Badee and more, WALK creates a community of talented designers and inspired models to contribute to the fashion culture of Detroit and many other cities.

I composed this album during a time in my life where I finally realized the one way I can truly exercise power in my life, by letting go. And not just letting go, but allowing that process to open you up to the limitless possibilities of an infinite universe. In Carthasis EP, I seek to convey the concept of fluidity as an adaptive principle that can lead to a more fulfilling life.
