With Love and Flowers: A Tribute to Detroit’s Black Matriarchs

“With Love & Flowers: A Tribute to Detroit’s Black Matriarchs” is a tribute to our Black Matriarchs where we will reflect on the question “What does it look like to honor the Black women who built, nurtured, and fought for a better Detroit?”

In celebration of Women’s History Month, we invite you to a gathering that honors the legacies of Black Matriarchs in Detroit. Through collage and creative storytelling, this community experience pays tribute to the caregivers—past and present—who shape our lives.

Join us for an afternoon of fellowship and participate in hands-on, creative practices that use flowers to celebrate and explore Black womanhood.
