Epic Movement
DESCRIPTION
Detroit-based band, Epic Movement, is a unique voice in the world of genre defying music. Formed in 2014, this young group of motor city musicians fused jazz, funk, rock, latin & soul to produce a signature sound that resonates with all types of audiences. An eight piece collective, Epic Movement is propelled by the original music and adventurous arranging of drummer and primary composer Devon "D-Rock" Whitehead.
In addition to a unique sound, emotion-evoking songs & odd time signatures, Epic Movement guarantees to deliver a lively performance with insane levels of positive energy for the movers and thinkers. The band's mission extends far beyond its musical performance, as the vision of band leader Devon Whitehead is to deliver a positive message through expression of songs and experiences, which has inspired the music and inspirational documentary for their first live CD/DVD, "Dreamer", which earned the band a nomination for the 24th Annual Detroit Music Awards in 2015 for "Outstanding Jazz Recording".
