On November 14th, the 12th edition of WALK in Detroit took place at the newly renovated Garden Theatre and was put on partnered with Walk Fashion and Catwalk by Hairshon in order to raise money for HIV and Aids. The day consisted of three shows; WALK University, which highlights children's fashion lines and models, The Emerging Designers Showcase, and The Catwalk, which featured well known designers from the area. There were numerous designers and models who showcased their talents at the shows.
Local businesses and designers were also able to showcase their work and merchandise as attendees entered the venue. Vendors varied from clothing companies such as AnArtKeyLife and Détroit Is The New Black to culinary and dessert companies.
Showcasing numerous designers such as Vino Supraja, Thrift On The Ave, Devorah Badee and more, WALK creates a community of talented designers and inspired models to contribute to the fashion culture of Detroit and many other cities.
The WALK Fashion show brings high fashion feels to the city instead of having to travel to other cities to get that experience. An integral part of the fashion scene and a major part of its revitalization in Detroit, WALK has something for everyone to enjoy.
